The running chef

Look who donned a chef’s hat yesterday! The chef was preparing his signature dish, Aglia Oglio. Errr…perhaps that’s his only dish. The other time the chef ever set his feet into the kitchen was to whip up an omelet or salad (does it counts?). The pasta and the olive oil were part of his carbo-loading for long distance run (LDR) this morning. The chef ran more than 100km for the past one month, which I can only dream of in envy! His running buddy advised him to drink 2 tablespoons of olive oil before LDR. That is because the body tends to burn fat first before switching to the stored glycogen and the trouble is, once it switched to glycogen, the body will be competing with the brain for glycogen as the brain can only consume glycogen. Now you don’t want to starve your brain… Back to the Aglia Oglio, don’t envy me, it was yummilicious!
