Hanoi - from my personal experience

Posted by HuiHui on 9:20 PM
For the first three days of the trip, I was popping panadol like vitamin, once a day, to tame the throbbing headache from the traffic, the weather and the people. The traffic - the only traffic rule exist over there is no rule; the lines are imaginary and the traffic lights are for decorative purpose. Oh.. actually there is one, that is honk your horn and everyone strictly adhere to it! The weather - July is the hottest and wettest month of the year. Oh bummer! But the worst of the three is perhaps - the people. It seems that nearly everyone was out there to cheat, scam and rip you off. You also get harassed left and right by the street vendors. The service was generally bad and they can hardly understand English. For example, when we finally got back our laundry - way past the promised time, a couple hours before our flight back, after bugging and arguing and checking with the receptionist endless time; we found it to be totally DAMP! Arggg.....

If you feel strong urge to come here, please do read up some BKM/tips <link1> <link2> <link3> first. We didn't, so padan muka. Of all the places I'd been, I would rank this place as the most unpleasant place to be but it was a good valuable experience.

Okay, enough of the rambling and lets take a look at this beautiful place, shall we?
We shall get the ball rolling with day 4 - Tam Coc.
